I would like to introduce a good book to all of you. The book is The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It is a novel by Mitch Albom. Mitch Albom is a very famous auther and his book Tuesdays with Morrie is the New York Times bestseller. The Five People You Meet in Heaven talks about the life and death of a maintenance man named Eddie.
Eddie is a wounded war veteran, he is an old man who has lived, in his mind, an uninspired life. His job is fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. On his 83rd birthday, a tragic accident kills him as he tries to save a little girl from a falling cart. He awakes in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a destination. Heaven is actually a place where your life is explained to you by five people, some of whom you knew, others who may have been strangers. One by one, from childhood to soldier to old age, Eddie's five people revisit their connections to him on earth, illuminating the mysteries of his "meaningless" life, and revealing the haunting secret behind the eternal question: "Why was I here?"
Mr. Albom has a way with words and manages easily to write about the complex issues of life and death in a very down-to-earth manner. This is a book you won't put down once you start and it's also a book that will transcend the test of time. It is highly recommended!
